Art Street, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization, directed by Robert Guillemin. For almost forty years, Art Street has taken the arts out of the "culture houses" and into the streets, engaging large throngs of people in cultural events. Art Street has developed a national reputation for using the arts to rally people around noble causes. Art Street programs have reached millions of people in cities throughout the United States and beyond. One program that has been particularly successful has been the creation of a popular public artist and folk hero known and loved as "Sidewalk Sam". Sidewalk Sam draws pictures on sidewalks in the midst of pedestrian traffic and delights passerbys with his friendly, inclusive creative spirit.
